Alissa Veeneman began her piano teaching studio in 1994 as a high school student and
has continued to teach a number of students every year since then. While living in
different states for her husband's vocation, she has had studios in Grand Rapids, MI;
Bellevue, NE; Glenwood, IA and is currently growing her studio in Everson, WA.
Alissa started playing piano at the age of 6, won scholarships to and attended both
Interlochen Center For the Arts Music Camp and Blue Lake Fine Arts Music Camp in
Michigan, gave a solo senior recital at St. Cecilia Music Society in Grand Rapids when
she was 17, and continued on to study Piano Pedagogy at Cornerstone University in
Grand Rapids, MI with an applied minor in Organ. Alissa has served as a church
pianist/organist since 1991 and currently plays piano and organ monthly for Bellingham
United Reformed Church.
While teaching in Michigan, Alissa adjudicated for the Michigan Music Teachers
Association and the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival in Grand Rapids. She
also served as Assistant Treasurer of the Grand Rapids Piano Teachers Forum.
Alissa is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, the Washington Music
Teachers Association, and the Lynden Music Teachers Association. She is accepting
students at her home studio in Sumas.
